Have you ever thought about living as part of a community? Does the idea appeal to you? If you ask those of us who live here at Croydon Hall the essence of life in a community, the words you most often hear include "friendship", "growth", "part of a team", "meditation", "quality of life", "mutual support", "intimacy", "sharing" and even, paradoxically, "aloneness"

 

We are always open to people who would like to share this experience with us. You could try one of our "Community Experience" programmes, being part of the community from as short a time as one week. Or you could jump in with both feet as many of us did, and become a long-term community member (normally a six-month commitment).

All it takes is a little madness, or courage, to face the joys and challenges of living and working closely with others and being drawn to Osho’s meditations. The community at Croydon Hall is like a river - always flowing and changing. You can come four times a year and you will always see new and different faces! So why not give it a try for a few weeks or even a few months?

The Full-time Work Experience (£99.00)

For visitors who want to experience living and meditating with us, the Community Experience programme is the ideal way to be here. This involves being part of the community, joining in the work (6 hours per day or 35 hours per week) and the life here. This programme is for people who will stay for a specific period - minimum 1 week and maximum 2 weeks - and just want to slot in, helping in any capacity. The cost of this programme is from £99 for one week including full board and dormitory accommodation.

The Part-time Work Experience (£149.00)

For those who want to be here and work fewer hours a week, we have a part-time Community Experience programme. People need to contribute 20 hours a week only and can have more leisure time for individual sessions or to explore the countryside and the nearby areas. The cost of this programme is from £149 for a week including full board and dormitory accommodation. This too is for a minimum period of 1 week and a maximum period of 2 weeks.

The Work Scholarship

From time to time we require particular skills. These are often temporary requirements lasting from a few days to several weeks or months. For visitors with these skills, we offer the Work Experience on a Scholarship basis: work in exchange for food and accommodation.
