And now I'm supposed to call myself a Zen Master. There are two aspects to this, as far as I can see: There is the Inner Dimension, my experience of Zen after the experience of Kensho on a retreat in 1999. This enabled me to work and live Zen with an ever deepening understanding. The other one is the outer, the social dimension, being regarded and acknowledged as such.

Shivananda Ackermann was born in 1948 in Switzerland. As a trained graphic designer he travelled all over the world exploring life and also creative areas like painting, batik painting, photography, silkscreen printing and bookbinding. Many of us know how to give love, but we don't acknowledge our difficulty with actually accepting and receiving love. Intimacy is based on the easy and intuitive flow of giving and receiving love. In fact, a healthy relationship is a balance of fully giving and fully receiving. Our unconscious beliefs about ourselves and the sense of unworthiness we carry from childhood can, without our knowing it, set up an invisible barrier to really letting ourselves be loved.

We will look deeply into what barriers we have to letting love in, and in a gentle way create new understandings that allow us to be really fulfilled in our intimate lives. Through guided meditations and carefully designed exercises, in an atmosphere of respect and acceptance, we are slowly supported to come back into contact with the more fragile and sensitive parts of ourselves that have been forgotten.

Vasumati has been a therapist for over 30 years, working in the field of relationships -- especially with couples – sexuality and Tantra. She has trained extensively in the field of co-dependency and addictions, and has studied with John Bradshaw in the USA. She combines her approach with the meditative disciplines of Eastern religions and the result is a unique synthesis of Eastern and Western approaches to understanding the human condition that is both effective and holistic.

In addition to facilitating seminars, workshops and training programs world wide, Vasumati works in private practice as a relationship counsellor, sex therapist and life coach. The course is a full four day residential course offering full board and tuition in the Wu style of Tai Chi Chuan by one of Europes foremost exponents of the style. It is especially suited to new beginners or members from other styles. It also allows present practitioners of the style to deepen their understanding of the art by refinement and continous practice in the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings offered by the location.

Pat Saults playing the Sabre Form, Grimstone 2002 Participants can be of all levels, from complete beginners to instructors, and do not have to be members of Wu's Academy. The course is run over five days and covers all facets of Wu style Tai Chi Ch'uan. You can start the day with chi kung exercises, go on to sessions on the form, push hands, meditation, self defense and - for the more advanced - weapons.

Classes will mostly take place outside, weather permitting! Accommodation, meals and teaching are included in the course fee.

The course starts at 6 am and continues until 9.30 pm. Practitioners train as and when it suits themselves, and there are adequate rest breaks and meal times in between. A special introduction course is available for beginners with intensive personal attention from the instructors.

Due to its popularity, the number of places on the course is limited, so early booking is advised.

Croydon Hall is set in beautiful grounds, close by the sea. It provides delicious vegetarian food and a swimming pool. Hot tub and sauna can be used for a small extra charge.

This group is designed for both singles and couples. The structure is based on the 12 dimensions of Tantra exploration, using meditations taken from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, a 5000 year old treatise on Tantra methods. There will be partner meditations and meditations done alone, and there will be group meditations and processes, during which it will be necessary to melt and merge into the group energy.              

Many of the exercises/structures in the Tantra Meditation Retreat can be done with your own partner. However, there will be occasions when a group structure will take you away from your partner and require you to work with someone else of the opposite sex, possibly in a very intimate and/or sensuous way. Sarita has asked me to make clear that these structures will not be harmful to your couple relationship. If you are uncomfortable about any of this and feel that it may be too challenging for one or both of you please contact Supragya for more information/details.

As with all our Tantra groups, which are aimed at individuals rather than couples, we will not be teaching Tantra practices, which include lovemaking. This teaching is reserved for the couples Tantra groups. However, as with all Tantra practice, we will be embracing an orgasmic awareness of our full sensual being. During the time in the group room, there will be sharing and intimate moments with other participants. However, during the time outside the group room we will be asking everyone to remain in silence, which will help to build up the energy of meditation to its maximum potency. The group is aimed at helping participants to experience ecstatic communion of body, soul and spirit, within themselves, with nature, and within the group as a whole.

TANTRA TRAINING FOR LOVERS

Through the exploration of Tantra as a couple, Sarita has made some fascinating discoveries on this timeless subject. This training is offered in 7 levels. It is designed to give you time in-between groups to experiment with the various Tantric practices given in each level. Everyday, as a part of the training each couple will go to the privacy of their bedroom to practise a particular Tantric meditation which includes making love. Level 1, Intimacy: 6 Days

Level 5, Exalted Union: 5 Days

Level 6, Ardhanareshvara: 5 Days
