Heathrow Airport

The easiest way to reach Croydon Hall from outside the UK is via Heathrow Airport.

From Heathrow, the Heathrow Express rail link goes into Paddington Station in London leaving every 15 minutes, taking 15 minutes from terminals 1, 2 and 3 and 20 minutes from Terminal 4. There are trains from Paddington Station to Taunton roughly every hour. Total typical journey time to Taunton is 3 hours subject to connections.

There is also a RailAir coach that goes from the terminals at Heathrow Airport to Reading Station every 30 minutes where you can join the London to Taunton trains. This is generally cheaper than taking the Heathrow Express.

Alternatively, there are National Express coaches from the Central Bus Station at Heathrow Airport. Some of these services are direct and some go via Bristol. These are generally cheaper than the train service and total typical journey time to Taunton is generally over 3 hours subject to connections.

To travel from Heathrow Airport on the Croydon Hall "to the door" London Special (see below for details) you need to take the Piccadilly line Eastbound from the Heathrow Central or Terminal 4 tube station to Hammersmith and join the Berry’s coach there. [top]

Gatwick Airport

From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express rail link goes into Victoria Station in London leaving every 30 minutes, taking 30 minutes. The entrance to the station is within the South Terminal building.

To continue your journey by train, take the London Underground Circle Line Westbound to Paddington Station from Victoria. There are trains from Paddington Station to Taunton roughly every hour. Total typical journey time to Taunton is 4 hours subject to connections.

Alternatively, there are National Express coaches from the Victoria Bus Station which is a short walk from Victoria train Station. Some of these services are direct from Taunton and some go via Bristol. These are generally cheaper than the train service and total typical journey time to Taunton is generally about 5 hours subject to connections.

It is possible to travel from Gatwick Airport by coach to Taunton by taking the Flight Link coach to Heathrow and joining the London to Taunton service. It should be possible to purchase a through ticket from Gatwick.

To travel from Gatwick Airport on the Croydon Hall "to the door" London Special you need to travel into Victoria on the Gatwick Express and take the District line Westbound to Hammersmith and join the Berry’s coach there. [top]

Stansted Airport

Stansted Airport is to the East of London and therefore further from Croydon Hall. The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes weekdays and every 30 minutes weekends and evenings to London Liverpool Street station and takes about 40 minutes. The airport railway station is situated below the terminal building. From Liverpool Street, take the Circle Line or Hammersmith and City Line Westbound on the London Underground to Paddington Station. There are trains from Paddington Station to Taunton roughly every hour.

It is possible to travel from Stansted Airport by coach to Taunton by taking the Flight Link coach to Heathrow and joining the London to Taunton service. It should be possible to purchase a through ticket from Stansted. The journey time is about 5 hours.

To travel from Stansted Airport on the Croydon Hall "to the door" London Special you need to travel into Liverpool Street on the Stansted Express and take the Hammersmith and City Line Westbound on the London Underground to Hammersmith and join the Berry’s coach there. [top]

Luton Airport

Luton Airport is to the North of London and therefore further from Croydon Hall.

The Thameslink train to London runs roughly every 15 minutes to London Kings Cross Station and takes from about 35 to 55 minutes. A free shuttle bus service operates to and from the new Luton Airport Parkway station, situated about 2 km from the terminal building.

From Kings Cross, take the District, Circle or Metropolitan Line Westbound on the London Underground to Paddington Station. There are trains from Paddington Station to Taunton roughly every hour.

It is possible to travel from Luton Airport by coach to Taunton by taking the Flight Link coach from outside the terminal building to Heathrow and joining the London to Taunton service. The journey time is about 5 hours.

To travel from Luton Airport on the Croydon Hall "to the door" London Special (see below) you need to travel into Kings Cross on Thameslink train and take the Picadilly Line West/ South bound on the London Underground to Hammersmith and join the Berry’s coach there. [top]

Bristol Airport

Bristol is the nearest airport to Croydon Hall with scheduled international services to European cities run by British Airways, KLM, DAT, Ryanair and EasyJet.

To travel by public transport from Bristol Airport, take the Bristol International Flyer express coach to Bristol railway and bus stations. There are trains from Bristol Temple Meads Station about 4 times an hour to Taunton with journey times from about 30 minutes to one hour. National Express run 4 coaches a day from Bristol to Taunton taking from one to two hours.

Travelling time by taxi from Bristol Airport is about one hour to the door of Croydon Hall. [top]

 

EuroStar Train

Eurostar trains run hourly services from Paris and every two hours from Brussels to London taking about 2½ hours. From the international terminal at Waterloo, take the Bakerloo Line North to continue the journey by train to Taunton from London Paddington Station or take the Northern Line changing to the District or Circle Lines West bound at Embankment to join a coach at Victoria coach station. Euroline Coach

Euroline run regular international coach services from most European cities to Victoria Coach Station in London. You can change there to a National Express coach to Taunton. It is usually better to book your ticket through to Taunton at the time of purchase. [top]

By Car – Ferry or Eurotunnel

You can bring your car from Europe either by Eurotunnel services (arriving near Folkestone) or by ferry arriving at one of a number of ports including Dover, Portsmouth, Harwich, Poole or Plymouth. Most of these ports have easy access to the motorway system. Croydon Hall is 40 kilometres off the M5 at Junction 23. Reaching Croydon Hall from Taunton

There is a local bus service from Taunton bus station and Taunton train station to our nearest town, Williton. The service number is 28 to Minehead, and it departs between 5 and 15 minutes past the hour every hour except 19.00. The last bus at night is the 22.10. Please call from Taunton and we will arrange for the courtesy car to collect you from the bus stop in Williton. On Sundays the service runs approximately every two hours.

Taxis are available at the train and bus stations. If you call Croydon Hall before commencement of your journey, we can arrange for you to be met by a taxi on arrival in Taunton.

Croydon Hall "To the door" London Special

Croydon Hall can arrange for you to travel from London Hammersmith Coach Station to Bridgwater in Somerset where you will be met by our courtesy car and driven to Croydon Hall. This is arranged through our local coach company, Berry’s.

There is one departure each day from London at 15.00 (17.00 on Sundays) and a return leaving Croydon Hall at 15.40 on Sundays, 17.00 on Fridays and 10.10 Mondays to Saturdays.

Bookings for this service must be made through Croydon Hall not later than mid-day on the day before travel. The current price for this service is £31 return or £21 single payable prior to booking and subject to change. The estimated scheduled journey time is about 45 minutes to the door. [top]
